Adapting Zoning and Construction Standards for Mixed Use Development

This Issue Forum will review strategies to accommodate historic district infrastructure for contemporary hospitality uses. Anticipating noise and trash impacts in mixed-use development enables better planning for how to mitigate them. Among the approaches to be discussed include consolidation of trash and recyclables, efficient trash pick-up schedules to reduce impacts on traffic flow, as well as proactive implementation of noise-reduction strategies.

Learn how to prevent the most common impacts to residents’ quality of life generated by nightlife activity prior to or in conjunction with new housing or retail development.
